About Me
Hello and welcome!
I'm Charlotte, a Frenglish literary translator, reader, illustrator, candle maker and overall creative based in the beautiful Corrèze region in France. In 2024, I moved back to my home country with my partner after living abroad (England & Canada) for 10 years. I now live in a little cottage nestled in the countryside near the dormant volcanoes of Auvergne, where I translate YA books from English to French, read and review books and run my small art and candle business.
I love telling stories through illustration, photography, film, music, words and scent. My candles, illustrations and handmade goods are inspired by the seasons and cosy everyday moments, whether it is a warm drink on a crisp autumn day, a quiet walk in the forest or a winter morning spent by the fireplace with a good book.
You can read my blog (free on Patreon), visit my shop, follow me on Bluesky and YouTube, and sign up to my cosy monthly newsletter.
I hope you will feel right at home in this little corner of the internet!

Fun facts about me
Friday is almost but not my real name.
I studied theatre and film making, co-directed a theatre company and performed in plays and musicals for years before I became a literary translator.
I was born the year when Back to the Future and Take on Me came out. I'll let you do the maths.
My dream is to grow a pumpkin patch as big and sincere as Charlie Brown's.
I play the piano and the guitar (although not as well as I used to) and I love tap dancing.
I re-read Tove Jansson's Moomin books every year.
My usual coffee shop order is either: black americano, oat vanilla latte, oat matcha, chai latte or any kind of spicy or smoky tea.
